Jumuah Masjid

Swinburne Masjid (Room GS308, located on level 3 of The George Building at Hawthorn campus), is the local Masjid of Hawthorn and a place where Muslim students gather in their worship. The Masjid is capable of facilitating upto 400 individuals and, as such, is the largest prayer space allocated to any University in Victoria. Many activities are run in the Masjid to promote Islam to the public and to help facilitate Muslims in their faith. These include free meals during Ramadhan, weekly Qur’an classes, seminars, lectures , study circles, multiple Jumaa khutbah to help those with timing commitments and much more. Elevators are accessible to the public and we seek to assist all in their relevant inquiries. Please attend regularly and help unite Muslims on campus.

The  Prayer room is approximately a one minute walk from Glenferrie station. Belgrave,  Lilydale and Alamein train lines from the city travel to Glenferrie station in 10 minutes.

Tram  No.16 Kew to St Kilda Beach stops on Glenferrie Road, where shops, food  outlets and ATMs are also located.

Bus No. 624 Kew-Chadstone – Oakleigh (via Carnegie),  travels along Auburn    Rd about a 10 minute walk to  Campus.
